EASTPORT — Eastport Salmon Festival, Sept. 2-4, celebrates the fishing industry of years past as well as the Atlantic salmon aquaculture industry of today. Events include Paint Eastport Day, live music, fine arts, crafts. For a schedule and information, visit

PORTLAND — I naugural Portland Brew Festival, Sept. 3-4, at the Portland Company Complex at 58 Fore St. In addition to the hops highlights, attendees can purchase barbecue goodies from the New England Brisketeers along with other offerings from local food vendors. Limited-admission, scheduled sessions will allow guests the time and space to peruse the purveyors, interact with the experts and hone their tasting techniques. The sessions are scheduled for noon-3:30 p.m. and 5-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, and noon-3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4.
