AUBURN — Great Falls Balloon Festival, Aug. 19-21 along the banks of the Androscoggin River, balloons launching 6 a.m. and 6 p.m daily from Simard Payne Memorial Park in Lewiston, weather permitting. Festival kicks off Friday morning, Aug. 19, runs through early evening of Sunday, Aug. 21. This year’s theme, “Critters in the Clouds,” refers to the special-shaped balloons: Hootie the Owl, Annie the Ladybug and Bud E. Beaver.
