By Sharon Kiley Mack, BDN Staff

CALAIS, Maine — A 4-year-old child was not injured Wednesday morning despite falling from a second-story window.

The child, whose name is being withheld, landed on a toy and grass, according to Sgt. Chris Donahue of the Calais Police Department.

“He pushed out the window screen and was hanging out the window when he fell,” Donahue said. The incident happened about 9:25 a.m. at 24 Garfield Street.

He was taken by ambulance to Calais Regional Hospital as a precaution, Donahue said, but was uninjured.
