Irving to sponsor Special Olympics fundraiser on July 23

BREWER, Maine — Irving Oil has designated Saturday, July 23, as “To Serve and Protect Day,” where Special Olympics athletes, coaches and law enforcement officers will work alongside Irving and Circle K employees to pump gas, wash windows, and greet customers at local Irving Service Stations around the state.

Donations will be accepted to support the more than 3,400 Special Olympics athletes from Maine who participate in local and state competitions each year.

Saturday’s fundraiser will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Irving and Circle K locations in Auburn, Augusta, Bethel, Boothbay, Brewer, Bridgton, Elliot, Ellsworth, Farmington, Fryeburg, Houlton, Kittery, Lewiston, Madison, Manchester, Newport, Old Town, Orono, Portland, Rockland, Saco, Sanford, Scarborough, Topsham and Wiscasset.

The public can also support Special Olympics by buying car window clings for $1 at Irving Service Stations, Travel Plazas and Circle K locations throughout Maine. Clings can be purchased until Aug. 2. In addition, Irving Oil Marketing will make a direct donation.
