WESTFIELD, Maine — Police said Wednesday that speed and alcohol were factors in a crash that killed a Bridgewater man Tuesday morning.

Randy A. Brown, 29, of Bridgewater died in the crash, which took place on the Miller Road in Westfield. Police said Miller’s 2007 Ford Focus left the road, rolled and vaulted. He was ejected from the vehicle. Emergency responders found him dead at the scene.

Brown died of massive head trauma, according to the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

Aroostook County Sheriff’s Deputy Ross McQuade said Wednesday that the crash remains under investigation, but speed and alcohol were involved.

The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by Mars Hill Fire Department first responders and the U.S. Border Patrol.
