SURRY, Maine — The Surry Community Improvement Association will host the annual Surry town picnic at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at the town landing on Wharf Road.
All residents are encouraged to join their neighbors in this celebration of summer and community spirit. Hot dogs, baked beans, beverages, paper goods and cutlery will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic dish, snack or dessert to share, as well as chairs.
There is no charge for the picnic but donations will be accepted. Live music will be provided by the Neckalodians.
Infant Family Support Program receives grant
ELLSWORTH, Maine — Maine Coast Memorial Hospital’s Infant Family Support Program (has received a grant from the Maine Community Foundation’s Washington County fund. The grant will enable the program to expand its services to the Eleanor Widener Dixon Memorial Clinic in Gouldsboro.
The Infant Family Support Program is the first program initiated by the Hancock County Infant Mental Health Coalition. The program operates within the Maine Coast Memorial Hospital pediatrics office, ensuring that infant mental health and development are a priority equal to physical well-being.
