DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — Gov. Paul LePage will hold his next Capital for a Day on Thursday in Piscataquis County, where he plans to visit several businesses and hold a public town hall-style meeting.
LePage, who plans to hold a Capital for a Day in each county, has already held similar events in Knox, Sagadoc, Cumberland and York counties.
LePage will start the day at 10 a.m. with a tour of Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, the largest employer in the area and one of five hospitals to be consistently ranked as one of the preferred hospitals by the State Employee Health Commission. A special presentation will be made to the hospital for that recognition.
Visits also will be made by LePage during the day to Pleasant River Lumber Co. in Dover-Foxcroft, Pepin Industries in Greenville and Hardwood Products Co. in Guilford.
The town hall meeting, in which the governor and department commissioners will answer questions from the public, will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft.
