PLYMOUTH, Maine — Several firearms were removed last week from the Clark Road home of a mother arrested and charged with pointing a handgun at her adult sons, Maine State Police Trooper Forrest Simpson said Wednesday.
Cheryl Hajek, 53, was charged with felony criminal threatening on July 9, the day after the incident occurred, the trooper said.
“Allegedly, she pointed a firearm at one of her adult children to get him to leave her residence,” Simpson said. “We got the report a day later. Two adult children were there and there was an argument that took place … and Cheryl grabbed the handgun and pointed it at them.”
One of the two sons, who are 18 and 21, said he took off running when Hajek grabbed the .380-caliber pistol, and the other one reported that she pointed the weapon at him, according to the trooper.
Hajek was taken to the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor after her arrest. As a precaution, “a few firearms — a rifle and black powder pistol,” were taken from her home along with the handgun, Simpson said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
