Activity assistant Jade Botting (left) of Dirigo Pines Retirement Community in Orono and Executive Director Darlene MacLeod of the Ronald McDonald House in Bangor discuss a recent project conducted by the retirement community. Dirigo Pines staff and residents gathered several boxes of household items to donate to the Ronald McDonald House, which provides short-term accommodations for families whose children are receiving treatment at nearby medical facilities. Some 450 families are served each year at the 14-bedroom Ronald McDonald House.
