Waterville artist’s art exhibit date changes

BELGRADE LAKES, Maine — Waterville artist Matthew Russ will host an art exhibit to benefit the new Maine Lakes Resource Center with an opening reception at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at the Maine Lakes Resource Center, Main Street, Belgrade Lakes Village. The exhibit will run through Aug. 20.

Matthew Russ is a 1996 graduate of Colby College and resident of Waterville. Russ draws inspiration from the landscape of the Kennebec Highlands, where he paints in the field year-round. For information, visit www.matthewruss.com.

Events planned in Caribou

CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou Chamber of Commerce has announced the following events for Saturday, July 9:

• The Arootsakoostik Music Festival will take place 11 a.m.- 8 p.m. in New Sweden.

• The Canadian Atlantic Open Wheels Tour will be held at 6 p.m. at Spuds Speedway in Caribou. • The 28th annual Cary Classic Benefit Tournament will be held July 9-10 at the Caribou Country Club. Registration deadline is July 7 with forms available at www.carymedicalcenter.org.

• The Caribou High School Class of 1986 reunion will take place 5 p.m.-1 a.m. at Spruce Haven, 214 Doyle Road in Caribou.
