BEAVER COVE, Maine — A proposed Beaver Cove budget of $603,076 will be presented for adoption at the annual town meeting at 7 p.m. Friday, May 27, at the Community Center.
One budget item unknown is the town’s share of transfer station costs. The town has contracted with Greenville over the years for solid waste disposal, according to Kim Larsen, Beaver Cove’s administrative assistant. Greenville plans to close its landfill and construct a transfer station. Greenville Town Manager Gary Lamb is expected to attend the meeting to discuss the bids the town has received for the project, she said Thursday. Once the cost is known, residents are expected to vote later this spring whether to continue to contract with Greenville.
Residents will elect a selectman and a Greenville School Committee member.
