Brooks to celebrate Community Day

BROOKS — Brooks residents are invited to attend the many events taking place at the Brooks annual Community Day Celebration at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 28, organized by the Brooks Park Boosters. The Brooks Village Farmers Market will take place at 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Town Office. Other events throughout the day include train rides aboard the Belfast and Moosehead Lake Railroad leaving from the Brooks Preservation Society at 11a.m. and 2 p.m.

The third annual Trek Across Brooks, organized by the Brooks Congregational Church, will begin at 9 a.m. Trekkers, who may choose their own routes and distances, may begin at the Brooks-Knox town line on Route 137 or at the Varney Building on Route 7. Coffee, juice, muffins, donuts and other refreshments will be available to those participating. A $5 contribution is requested per trekker, or $10 for families of three or more.

A car wash will be held at the Brooks Fire Station to benefit the Brooks Little League.
