Yard sale to benefit Jackson Food Pantry

BROOKS, Maine — A yard sale to raise money for the Jackson Food Pantry will be held 6 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 28, at 65 Purple Heart Highway in Brooks.

The address is also home to Brooks Graphics, said food pantry director Cindy Ludden.

She said the pantry has seen a 20 percent increase in need over the past five months.

“It’s the economy,” she said. “We’re seeing all ages now.”

Because of that, the pantry is now open twice a month instead of just once. It’s open 9-10 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Jackson Community Center.

According to Ludden, yard sale organizers are still looking for donated goods.

For more information or to donate, call Ludden at 722-3205.
