AUGUSTA, Maine — Maj. Gen. John W. Libby, adjutant general of the Maine National Guard, announces the promotion of Caleb York, PFC, Skowhegan, Detachment 2, Company D, 1/126th Aviation Regiment. PFC York was promoted in April 2011.

Maine Wellness Expo coming to Waterville

WATERVILLE, Maine — Join the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for a day of exploration of all the dimensions of health and well-being with a MS-focused wellness expo. The Maine Wellness Expo is an interactive and informative day for people with MS, their families and friends, and interested community members to be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at the Muskie Community Center in Waterville.

Workshops throughout the day will cover topics that help people live better with MS, including nutrition, meditation, yoga, adaptive recreation, foot drop treatments and getting help with disability-related employment issues.

Maine People’s Alliance to honor MCEP director

PORTLAND, Maine — The Maine People’s Alliance will honor Maine Center for Economic Policy Executive Director Christopher “Kit” St. John at the “Rising Tide” annual awards dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Woodfords Congregational Church in Portland.
