Buffalo Wild Wings to open in Auburn

By Lindsay Tice, Sun Journal

AUBURN, Maine — Turner Street is getting a Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar.

The national restaurant chain recently moved into Maine with a location in South Portland. Its Auburn restaurant — in the 600 Turner St. plaza — will be the second Buffalo Wild Wings in the state.

“It’s Auburn, and it’s a great center,” said Kevin Fletcher, a broker with Coldwell Banker Millett Realty, the leasing agent. “It’s all about the location.”

The restaurant is expected to open in July.

There are three buildings in the 600 Turner St. plaza. Buffalo Wild Wings will lease a 6,000-square-foot space in the building on the right, next to CitiFinancial. Renovations to the storefront began this week. Fletcher said Buffalo Wild Wings representatives approached his office about moving to Auburn. They liked the location.

Buffalo Wild Wings specializes in beer, burgers, chicken wings and other pub food, along with an array of signature sauces. It offers both casual dining and a bar. Prices vary by location.

It is unclear how many jobs the restaurant will bring to Auburn. Fletcher believes South Portland location ultimately will have about 80 employees. The restaurant chain has started advertising for managers for Auburn.
