Dinner, auction to benefit hospitalized Caribou baby

STOCKHOLM, Maine — The Stockholm Legion Auxiliary will sponsor a benefit dinner-auction on Saturday, May 21, at the Stockholm Legion beginning at 5 p.m. This endeavor is to help raise funds to assist the Cunrod family of Caribou.

Robbie and Jessica Cunrod’s son Joshua was born on March 21, weighing only 2 pounds, 4 ounces. He has been at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor ever since and will remain there until doctors believe him big enough and strong enough to come home to Caribou.

The auxiliary members hope the fundraiser will help defray some of the cost of the Cunrods’ many trips back and forth to Bangor.

The evening will feature door prizes, many auction items to bid on, and raffle tickets for an original painting by local artist Bill Duncan. The raffle tickets may be bought from any member before or on that evening.

The auction will include an autographed book by Stephen King, who donated it for the occasion after a request from Auxiliary President Kathy Robinson.

Jessica’s Uncle Doug Michaud of “The Good Old Boys” along with some of his fellow musicians will provide music after the dinner and desserts.

The cost for the spaghetti benefit supper-auction is $7; $3 for children.

For more information, contact Robinson at 896-7909.
