Two women got into a fight over a pair of sunglasses Thursday night, and after police arrived, one of them was charged, Bangor police Sgt. Ed Potter said Friday.

“Both claimed they were theirs,” he said of the sunglasses.

Jamie Antelmi, 25, of Brewer got into an argument with a 21-year-old Bangor woman at around 6:45 p.m. Thursday and ended up being charged with assault. She also was given a disorderly conduct warning, the sergeant said.

The two women have a friend in common and it was at the mutual friend’s house where the alleged assault occurred. No one needed medical attention, Potter said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

A University of Maine student who was playing a prank on another student got into trouble with campus police early Friday, university spokesman Joe Carr said.

The disorderly conduct call came into police at 1:01 a.m., and when police arrived they found shaving cream on a doorknob, Carr said.

The student who sprayed the shaving cream was located and referred to the school’s judicial affairs office, he said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
