The Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic football game will honor its past players and cheerleaders this summer with the first Lobster Bowl Legends contests on Saturday, July 23 at Waterhouse Field in Biddeford.
Organized in conjunction with the Maine Games, two flag football contests will be played featuring alumni dating back to the first year of the Lobser Bowl — 1990.
Lobster Bowl Legends I, scheduled for 1 p.m., will involve former players from 1990 through 1999, preceded at noon by Lobster Bowl Legends II featuring former players from 2000 through 2010. Cheerleaders from past Lobster Bowl Classics also are invited to take part in these games.
Those who participate in the Lobster Bowl Legends games will be treated to a post-game cook-out, and then will be honored during the 2011 Lobster Bowl Classic.
The day will conclude at 8 p.m. with a Lobster Bowl Legends All-Star Bash at the Ramada Inn in Saco. Players, cheerleaders, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, and other guests will dance the night away.
The 22nd annual Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic will be played at 4 p.m.
