LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. — Stephen Perakslis of Maine pitched seven innings of two-run, two-hit ball to lead the Black Bears to an 8-3 victory over host Rider University Sunday afternoon to salvage the last game of a four-game series against the Broncs.

On Sunday, Maine finished strong by scoring three runs in both the eighth and the ninth to reward Perakslis (1-4) with his first win of the season. With two outs in the eighth, Tyler Patzalek singled to left. Fran Whitten followed with an RBI double. Justin Leienheimer struck out, but reached first on a wild pitch and Michael Fransoso made Rider pay for the mistake with a two-run double.
