PORTLAND, Maine — An Outlaws motorcycle club member who was present when a fellow club member was fatally shot by federal agents has been sentenced to eight months in prison on a firearms charge.

Kenneth Chretian was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court in Portland on a charge of possession of firearms by an unlawful user of a controlled substance. A second charge, resisting the execution of a search warrant, was dropped.

Chretian was arrested last June after agents stormed his Old Orchard Beach house in search of Thomas “Tomcat” Mayne, one of 27 Outlaws members and associates charged in a federal indictment. Mayne was fatally shot after he fired at agents.

Chretian was not charged in connection with the indictment.
