Spring is in the air: Go fly a kite!

With tuppence for paper and strings,

you can have your own set of wings.

With your feet on the ground, you’re a bird in flight!

With your fist holding tight to the string of your kite!

Get the kids — and yourself — out of the house on this blustery early-spring weekend. Click here for directions for building your own kite or pick one up from a local retailer. Beaches and open fields are best for kite-flying — be sure to stay away from power lines! And please, take some pictures and email them to me at (If it turns cold, you can always snuggle in to watch Mary Poppins…) — Meg Haskell, BDN
