EASTON – Arnold Leighton Kennedy, 88, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, in Presque Isle. He was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Easton, the son of Wellington and Elsie Kennedy.
Arnold loved music and had his own radio show in the 1940s. He kept several fan letters throughout the years. He played guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, harmonica, accordion and spoons. He had a popular antique business on Fort Fairfield Road, Easton, for many years. Arnold was set in his old time ways and appreciated the kindness of others. You would see him in his overalls getting the best buys at garage sales, eating at McDonald’s and driving very slowly down Main Street, Presque Isle.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Edna Johnson, Erma Oakes and Beatrice Hayden; and his brother, Edmond. The family gives special thanks to the staff at Leisure Village, Southern Acres and caregivers at The Aroostook Medical Center.
Friends may call noon until the time of service 1 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with Pastor Carlos deCruz officiating.
