GARLAND, Maine — A Hartland woman was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants Monday after she lost control of her vehicle and it rolled onto its roof on Route 7.

Alice Norwood, 46, had been traveling toward Dover-Foxcroft at about 6 p.m. when her older-model Buick struck a snowbank and the vehicle rolled over, according to Trooper Christopher Cookson of the Maine State Police, who went to the scene along with Garland firefighters.

Cookson said Norwood was taken by ambulance to Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, was treated for minor injuries and released.

Norwood is expected to make her initial court appearance May 11 in Newport District Court.
