EDMUNDS — Cobscook Bay State Park will hold its annual Winter Family Fun Day this Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 22, featuring a day of outdoor activities at the scenic state park.

Visitors will be able to try out all kinds of outdoor activities, including cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, with equipment provided by the Maine Winter Sports Center and the Washington County Community College. Expert instruction will be provided. Ice skating, snowmobile tote rides, and sledding also will be offered.

“Skiing, sledding and snowshoeing should be very good,” Park Manager Matt McGuire reported. “We have a good base, and more snow is expected Friday night.”

Two nature woods walks also will be presented by naturalist Andy Hutchinson, Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park manager. Hutchinson will talk about winter wildlife while leading the walks.

Volunteers from the Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge and WCCC will help out during the day. A hot lunch is provided with the cost of admission, which is $1.50 for adults, ages 12-64; all others, free. Visitors are reminded to dress warmly for outdoor fun.
