BIDDEFORD, Maine — Police say three men face charges after a Biddeford motel room was broken into and a man was beaten with bats and clubs.

Police said the suspects used a baseball bat to smash out a large window early Saturday at the Sleepy Hollow Motel where the victim, a female and small child were staying.

Police say the attackers yelled racial slurs as they beat the man, who was hospitalized.

Police arrested 20-year-old Dale Pinkham Jr. of Old Orchard Beach and charged him with carrying a concealed weapon — brass knuckles — and aggravated assault.

Twenty-year-old Darren Crawford of Biddeford was charged with elevated aggravated assault. Eighteen-year-old Michael Gagne of Old Orchard Beach was charged with aggravated assault. printed on August 20, 2017
