KENDUSKEAG, Maine — A fire Friday afternoon destroyed a mobile home on Town House Road.

The name of the homeowner was not available Saturday.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating to determine the cause of the blaze, but it did not appear to be suspicious, Kenduskeag Fire Chief Jon Seifert said Saturday.

No one was injured, but two cats were believed to have perished in the fire, he said.

The mobile home was in flames when firefighters arrived after the blaze was reported about 2:30 p.m. Friday, according to Seifert. The homeowner was at work when the fire broke out.

The fire was reported about 2:30 p.m. Friday.

The American Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance to the homeowner, Seifert said.

Fire crews from Levant, Corinth and Hudson also responded.
