BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor man was arrested just before midnight Christmas Eve after a family fight, Sgt. Paul Edwards of the Bangor Police Department said Sunday.

Richard A. Boyington, 52, was charged with Class C domestic violence assault because of prior convictions and disorderly conduct.

Boyington was arrested after police were called shortly after 11 p.m. Friday to a Union Street apartment after a report of a man and woman fighting. After police interviewed Boyington and a 42-year-old woman, officers arrested him.

He remained Sunday at Penobscot County Jail after being unable to make bail.
