WESTBROOK, Maine — Police in Westbrook, Maine, say it sure looked like a shuttered strip club was open for business with lights and disco ball flashing, and music blaring.
Dreamers Cabaret says it wasn’t defying the city’s decision to close his business. Adam Goodwin, who told police that he was in charge of the property, says plumbers were there early Sunday for an emergency repair. He says four women were there serving coffee to the workers.
Tom Hallett, the club’s lawyer, insists there was work being done last weekend.
The Portland Press Herald says Dreamers Cabaret had a short-lived run in Westbrook. It opened with nude dancing on Sept. 17 and was shut down the next day by the city.
