BAILEYVILLE, Maine — Local police arrested a Bangor man Thursday in connection with a motor vehicle crash last July that killed a Princeton man.
Baileyville Police Chief Shawn Donahue said Daniel Dwelley, 23, was charged with manslaughter, aggravated criminal OUI, aggravated assault, violation of conditions of release and operating after suspension.
The single-vehicle crash involving a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier occurred in the early morning of Saturday, July 10, on the South Princeton Road in Baileyville. Medical personnel pronounced Andrew Dow, 24, of Princeton dead at the scene, according to Donahue.
The investigation revealed that Dwelley was the operator of the 2004 Chevrolet, Donahue said.
Michelle Takach, 27, of Baileyville was a passenger in the vehicle, and Takach and Dwelley both were taken to Calais Regional Hospital and later released.
The investigation showed that alcohol and speed were factors in the crash, according to Donahue.
Dwelley was taken to the Washington County Jail in Machias after his arrest.
