Maine Brewers Festival kicks off

The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Maine — Beer from more than a dozen breweries will be served at Maine’s premier beer festival — but you’re out of luck if you need a ticket.

The sold-out 17th annual Maine Brewers Festival kicks off with a Friday night dinner where participants can learn about beer from the people that make it.

It continues Saturday at the Portland Expo, where ticket holders will sample beer from 14 breweries. The event also features food and music.

The festival bills itself as a celebration of Maine’s craft brewers and their beers.
