Thomaston man gets facial injuries, OAS charge in crash

OWLS HEAD, Maine — A Thomaston man was taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center for treatment of facial injuries he suffered when he crashed his car into an electric pole.

Maine State Police said Alex Hatch, 22, fell asleep at the wheel of his 2002 Hyundai and hit the pole at 6 a.m. Monday. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Hatch was charged with operating a motor vehicle after license suspension and for not wearing a seat belt.

The vehicle incurred about $2,000 in damage.

Rockland EMS and the Owls Head Fire Department responded to the call for assistance at Bayside West in Owls Head.
