An East Millinocket man suffered minor injuries when his vehicle crashed early Saturday morning on Millinocket Lake Road. According to Trooper Adam Coover of the Maine State Police, 72-year-old Wayne Osborn was driving toward Millinocket when his Chevy pickup crossed the centerline, plunged into a ditch on the other side of the road and hit a tree.

A passer-by came upon the scene at about 4:30 a.m. and found Osborn “passed out or asleep” in the driver’s seat, Coover said. Osborn suffered scrapes and bruises and was taken to Millinocket Regional Hospital. The front end of his truck was damaged. Alcohol was believed to be a factor in the incident, which remains under investigation. (Meg Haskell, BDN)
