CALAIS — Senior Spencer McCormick scored three touchdowns and converted four PAT rushing attempts in leading Calais-Woodland to victory over Old Town.

McCormick totaled 168 yards on 12 carries to pace the Silverados. Senior Ryan Cavanaugh added 10 carries for 118 yards, including two touchdowns and a two-point conversion in the first quarter. Jesse Clark added eight carries for 60 yards, 27 of those yards coming on a first-quarter touchdown.

Dan Rivers led the Coyotes with eight carries for 88 yards. He scored on a 48-yard run in the first. Ryan Boyington and Adam Hudson also scored touchdowns on rushes of 1 and 4 yards, respectively, with Boyington compiling 39 yards on 13 carries and Hudson 25 yards on seven carries.

Scott Carpenter completed a 9-yard pass for Calais-Woodland. It was the only completed pass of the game.

Devon Staples led the Calais-Woodland defense by recovering a fumble and recording two tackles for losses. Cavanaugh also had an interception.

The Silverados did not commit a turnover.

Calais-Woodland had 403 yards of offense to Old Town’s 230 yards.

Adam Hudson led the Old Town defense with 13 tackles and Levi Stokes had 10.

At Belfast, Jason Burke scored on a 29-yard run in the second quarter to give Mount Desert Island of Bar Harbor some breathing room as the Trojans defeated Belfast.

Burke led the Trojans with 11 carries for 112 yards. Elias Baine scored on a 4-yard run in the first and Trevor Alley added a 2-yard scoring run in the fourth. Alley converted both extra-point kick attempts.

Belfast’s Brad Reed scored on a 2-yard run in the second quarter, but a failed rushing attempt on the PAT left the Lions one point behind.

Duncan Smith had an interception on a 2nd-and-10 play on Belfast’s 40-yard line with about three minutes remaining to secure the win for MDI.

Smith went 2-for-3 passing for 77 yards.

Lani Eversage rushed for 69 yards on nine carries and caught two passes for 19 yards to lead the Lions.
