PITTSFIELD – Howard R. Larrabee Sr., 80, died Aug. 24, 2010. He was born May 14, 1930, in Portland, a son of George and Lillian (McGowan) Larrabee. During the Korean War he served as a corporal in the U.S. Air Force. He married the former Evelyn Blanchard, April 18, 1953. Howard was a devoted member and elder at the Pittsfield congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. At the time of his death he was the congregational ministerial servant. Howard believed that all those who died were asleep in death. Now Howard sleeps until the fulfillment of John 5:28-29: “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” We all await that time. Howard touched the lives of so many and will be forever in their hearts. In addition to his wife of Pittsfield, he is survived by three sons, Larry and wife, Diane, of Florida, Howard Jr. and wife, Virginia, of Parkman, and Michael and wife, Star, of Bucksport; three daughters, Carol Marie Ouellette and husband, Daniel, of Haverhill, Mass., Jean Marie Perkins and husband, Nathan, of Baldwin and Linda Scott and husband, Ralph, of Benton; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at Pittsfield Kingdom Hall, Routes 100 and 11, North Main Street, Pittsfield. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
