Cosgrove radio show set for Aug. 26 debut

    BANGOR — University of Maine football coach Jack Cosgrove will debut his radio call-in show Thursday, Aug. 26 on Black Bear Sports Network radio flagship station WAEI (97.1 FM) in Bangor.

The 7 p.m. show will be hosted live at the Sea Dog Brewing Company at 26 Front St. in Bangor every Thursday except Sept. 2, when the Black Bears open their season against the University at Albany.

Football sideline reporter Jim Churchill will host the show, which will utilize a half-hour format in which he and Cosgrove discus a variety of topics while taking questions and comments from callers during the second half of the show.

Young, Kruse Colby assistants

WATERVILLE — Chris Young will coach running backs and Chris Kruse will coach the defensive line after being named assistants by Colby College head football coach Ed Mestieri.

Young graduated form St. Lawrence University in 2006 and spent two seasons working with defensive linemen, tight ends and tackles at Bentley University as an assistant. He was also a varsity assistant and freshman head coach for two years.

Kruse was defensive line coach and head JV coach for Skowhegan High School and a high school varsity assistant and offensive coordinator in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Colby opens its season at Trinity College Sept. 25.
