3rd driver sought after two vehicles crash in Rockland

By Abigail Curtis, BDN Staff

ROCKLAND, Maine — A two-vehicle accident Saturday morning in front of the Turning Tide methadone clinic sent three people to the hospital — and left police looking for the driver of a third vehicle who left the crash scene.

“The creator of the mess is the one that left the scene,” said Sgt. Ken Smith of the Rockland Police Department. Smith said he did not have information about how the third vehicle was involved in the accident, but that police will examine a surveillance tape from a store across the street to learn more.

Three people were taken by Rockland EMS to Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport for evaluation, Smith said, adding that their injuries did not appear to be major.

He said the two vehicles were demolished.
