PORTLAND, Maine — A Maine member of the Outlaws motorcycle club who was present when federal agents raided a house and fatally shot another club member has been released on bail.

A federal judge on Monday agreed to let 46-year-old Kenneth Chretien go free on $10,000 bond.

Chretien was charged with interfering in the execution of a search warrant after federal agents raided an Old Orchard Beach home last Tuesday and fatally shot Chretien’s brother-in-law Thomas Mayne.

Mayne was one of 27 Outlaws indicted in Virginia and charged with drug trafficking, firearms violations and other offenses. Chretien was not indicted.

Thomas Benvie, 41, president of the Maine Outlaws chapter, was ordered held without bail last Thursday on racketeering charges.
