Public meeting in Kingsbury Plantation on wind turbines

Updated:

KINGSBURY PLANTATION — The Kingsbury Alliance of Landowners, a nonprofit corporation, has been formed to investigate the environmental and financial impacts that a wind turbine farm may have on the local quality of life and property values.

This small community is faced with a “very real possibility” that wind turbines will be erected within its boundaries so local officials have scheduled a public meeting for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at the Parkman Grange Hall.

Representatives of First Wind, the company proposing to erect the turbines, and Robert Linkletter of Linkletter & Sons, who owns the land where the turbines are planned to be installed, will attend.

The discussion will include noise levels created by the turbines and the impact on wildlife and property values.

Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Kingsbury Alliance of Landowners should contact Conan Furber at 242-7208.
