RIPLEY, Maine — A Cambridge woman was injured Sunday when she lost control of her vehicle on West Ripley Road.

Courtney Martin, 30, was taken by ambulance to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor after the accident at 5 p.m. A hospital public relations spokesman said Monday that Martin was in fair condition.

Martin had been eastbound Sunday when she rounded a curve too far toward the ditch and skidded on sand, Trooper Jon Brown of the Maine State Police said Monday. He said Martin overcorrected the vehicle and it spun around and rolled over twice before landing on its wheels.

Martin, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown into the back seat, Brown said. He said Martin may have suffered a broken leg. Her 1994 or 1995 Audi was demolished, he said.

In an unrelated incident, Brown also investigated an attempted burglary Sunday at K&K Salvage on Route 100 in Palmyra. He said the burglar, who had picked a lock and gained entry into the building, ran outside and left in a vehicle after he was confronted by an employee who happened to be inside.
