MILO – Allen W. Lauritsen, 73, husband of Nancy (Gastgaber) Lauritsen, died Feb. 24, 2010, in Peabody, Mass. He was born April 25, 1936, in Woodbridge, N.J., the son of Hans Peter and Matilda (Wedel) Lauritsen. A U.S. Marine Corps and Army National Guard veteran, he had worked for Middlesex Water Co., Edison, N.J., for 53 years. Allen enjoyed hunting, building ship models, and working in his shop with his grandson, Devin. He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Milo; three sons, Joseph Lauritsen of New Hampshire, Erik Lauritsen of Bucksport and Stephen Lauritsen, of Milo; a grandson, Devin Lauritsen of Brownville; two sisters, Carol Peterson of Perth Amboy, N.J., and Anita Southard and her husband, Bill, of Stafford, Va.; several nieces and nephews. Allen will be remembered by his good friends, Ed and Barbie Johnson, and Greg and Linda Russell. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Fuller. Friends are invited to call 1 p.m. until time of the memorial service 2 p.m. Monday, March 8, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo, with the Rev. Ann Purdy officiating.
