WALTHAM – Thomas E. McDonald Jr., 61, died unexpectedly Feb. 23, 2010, at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born Jan. 28, 1949, in Bangor, the son of Thomas E. and Velma B. (Bragg) McDonald Sr. Tom served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed camping, fishing with his family and dog, Buddy. He is survived by his mother, Velma McDonald of Orland; beloved wife of 34 years, Teresa of Waltham; daughters, Jennifer McDonald of Milbridge, Ashley and Heather McDonald, both of Waltham; grandchildren, Kala and Alaycia Young of Bar Harbor, and Mya and Mia Chase of Milbridge; brother, Kevin McDonald and wife, Sandra, of Orland; sister, Donna Sjogren and husband, Peter, of Homer, La.; two nephews, Joshua Braley and wife, Allison, and Chuck Braley and wife, Julie; several uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas E. Sr.; and granddaughter, Jodi Young. A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, with the Rev. Scott Connors officiating.
