BANGOR – Erwin R. “Cat” Carrow Sr., 62, husband of Donna L. (O’Neal) Carrow, died unexpectedly Feb. 23, 2010, while on a trip to New Hampshire. A beloved husband, father, uncle and grandfather, Erwin was born in 1947, in Levant, the son of Charles H. and Ella R. (Rines) Carrow. Erwin raised his family in Sherman. He worked in the lumber industry in the Sherman-Patten area for many years and had been employed by Blue Hill Pyrotechnics and Limousine Service for more than a decade. He was an avid reader and was a devout Christian who attended Lighthouse Church of God, Orrington. He also enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of Bangor; two children, Erwin “Erv” Carrow Jr. and his wife, Angela, of Glenburn and Nicole Boersma of Bangor; a brother, Leroy Carrow and his wife, Brenda, of Levant; two sisters, Geneva Torrey and her husband, Cliff, of Vermont and Cindy Jason and her husband, Terry, of Orono; grandchildren, Abigail and Kelly Boersma and Kirsten Leavitt; and eight nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his family and many, many friends. Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where a service honoring his life will be held 2 p.m. Friday with Pastor John Ouellette and the Rev. Thomas Smith presiding. A time of fellowship and refreshments will be immediately afterward. Burial will be in the spring at South Levant Cemetery.
