BANGOR and HUDSON – Constance “Connie” (Steeves) Hallett Hobart, 61, passed away peacefully Feb. 19, 2010, at her daughter’s home in Richmond Hill, Ga., after a brief illness. She was born in Bangor, the fourth child of Milton B. and Mildred I. (Kelsey) Steeves. She grew up in the Bangor area and graduated from Bangor High School. Connie was a licensed practical nurse at the state hospital in Bangor. She worked many years as a waitress and daycare provider. She loved gardening, fishing and canoeing at her lake house. Connie had a deep love and respect for her parents, and always spoke of the wonderful memories she had of her childhood. Connie was an adventure seeker; she enjoyed sky diving, parasailing and traveling to Aruba and Jamaica. She dedicated much of her time to spending time with her grandchildren at her lake. Connie enjoyed life and knew it was not the quantity, but the quality of each moment given. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her daughter, Jennifer (Hallett) Kelly of Richmond Hill, Ga.; son-in-law, David Kelly, deployed in Iraq; six grandchildren, Kathryn and Gabrielle Kelly of Richmond Hill, Ga., Danielle Hallett of Winterport, Justin, Alexis and Benjamin Hallett of Easley, S.C.; one sister, Gloria Smith and her husband, Tim, of Connecticut; one brother, Stanley Steeves of Connecticut; many loving nieces and nephews. Connie was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Hallett; second husband, George Hobart; and one brother, Charles Steeves. A service honoring her life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where family and friends may visit 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. Condolences may be offered at
