CHARLES ‘CHUCK’ C. BACHELLER

NORRIDGEWOCK – Charles “Chuck” C. Bacheller, 65, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at his residence after a brief illness. He was born Oct. 16, 1944, in Waterville, son of the late Guy M. and Elizabeth (Towne) Bacheller. Chuck graduated from Goodwill-Hinckley School and also attended Thomas Business College. After his schooling, he served with the U.S. Army as a heavy equipment mechanic stationed in Korea. Chuck was honorably discharged from the military with the rank of sergeant, having served from 1966 to 1969. After his service to his country, he began his career with the Maine State Police, Jan. 19, 1970, and retired Nov. 25, 1989. After his police retirement, Chuck was employed for several years with International Paper, Jay. He also thoroughly enjoyed being the owner and operator of Chuck’s Auto Sales, Route 139, Norridgewock. He was a past master of Lebanon Masonic Lodge, Norridgewock, as well as a lifetime member of Winslow Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8835 and Fairfield American Legion Post No. 14. During his younger years Chuck attended Pleasant Street United Methodist Church, Waterville. He had many enjoyments in life, including working on cars, trucks and tractors, and watching NASCAR. He also spent much of his leisure time at My Cousin’s Place, Norridgewock, enjoying coffee with his many friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two sisters, Christine Sabin and Faylene Bacheller. Chuck will be sadly missed by his sons, Charles Bacheller, Eric Bacheller, Kevin Bacheller and his wife, Ginger, of Bethesda, Md., and Brian Bacheller and his wife, Annmarie of Windsor; his daughter, Amanda Bacheller of Bangor; his brothers, John Bacheller and his wife, Becky, of Canaan and Daniel Bacheller and his wife, Gail, of Clinton; his grandchildren, Dustin, Elizabeth, Felicia, Emily, Eric and Nicholas; his companion, Bambi Tefft of Norridgewock; as well as several nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by his cats, Shiloh and Shadow. The family thanks Dr. Amy Madden, Dr. Diane Campbell and staff at Belgrade Health Center, as well as the folks at HealthReach Hospice, especially Kim Woods, for the exceptional care Chuck received. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, with brief military and Masonic services to begin 7 p.m. at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, Winslow Chapel, 173 China Road, Winslow, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20. Spring burial will occur at Sunset View Cemetery, Norridgewock. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chuck’s memory may be made to HealthReach Hospice, MaineGeneral Health, P.O.
