GUILFORD – Milton W. Troy, 86, died Feb. 13, 2010, at his home, of kidney failure. He was born Oct. 16, 1923, in Guilford, son of Harold and Beulah (Bragdon) Troy. Milton graduated from Guilford High School and Becker College, Worcester, Mass. He then entered the U.S. Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II, receiving a Bronze Star. He worked for Hardwood Products Co., and was a partner in the Hudson auto dealership, Clukey and Page Garage, Guilford. Then in 1946 he started doing tax work on the side. He did accounting for the state for 17 years, and later started his own accounting business that he worked at for many years. He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, who was the love of his life, Barbara (Matthews) Troy in 2009. He is survived by two sons, Matthew Troy of Guilford and Martin J. Troy and his wife, Cindy, of Waterville; a daughter, Victoria “Vicki” Troy of Dover-Foxcroft; two grandchildren, Ryan Troy of Benton and Laura Troy of Falls Church, Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Mykenzie Veilleux and Miranda Troy of Benton. The family thanks Milton’s caregivers for all their love and attention. Private funeral services will be held at Crosby & Neal, Guilford. Spring burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Guilford.
