WHITNEYVILLE – Ardelle D. Crommett, 91, wife of the late Clayton Crommett, passed away Feb. 11, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 14, 1918, in Island Falls, the daughter of Harvey and Clara (Denio) Drake. Mrs. Crommett was a graduate of Howland High School. She lived in Passadumkeag for many years. During her lifetime, she worked as a hairdresser and worked as a secretary for Dr. Larson in East Machias for many years, where she wore out three typewriters during her employment. She loved to knit and crochet, and she drove her car up until the day before she died – and never had an accident. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Kevin; and three brothers, Floyd, Harold and Olan. She is survived by two sons, Gerald Crommett and his wife, Dail, of Passadumkeag and Clyde Crommett and Fleurette Crommett of Canton, Ga.; grandchildren, Damon and Judy Crommett, Gwen and Andre Cushing, Heidy and Bill Hayden, Kim Holstein, Heather and Brian Skoglind; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves her longtime, special friend, Julian “Bud” Johnson; as well as special friends, Robin and Rebecca. There will be a graveside service in the spring at Gould’s Ridge Cemetery, Passadumkeag. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
