BANGOR – Julia A. MacDonald, 82, wife of the late James MacDonald Sr., died Feb. 10, 2010, at a local health care facility after a long illness. She was born Dec. 9, 1927, in Haynesville, the daughter of Fred and Fern (Wiers) Malone. Julia was a very loving and special mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Tilton of Dover-Foxcroft, and Joanna and her husband, George Farris, of Bangor; one brother, Lewis Malone of Glenburn; one sister and her husband, Anita and Donald Holt of Brewer; daughter-in-law, Rebecca MacDonald of Dexter; son-in-law, Robert Martin of Dedham; eight grandchildren, Jan and Jassen, Dan and Stephanie, Christy and Candi, James and Jared; 11 great-grandchildren; and a very special sister-in-law, Catherine Ericson of Holden. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Donna Martin; son, James MacDonald Jr.; son-in-law, Scott Tilton; great-grandson, David Braley; four sisters and five brothers. The family wishes to thank Dr. Atkins and the staff at Westgate Manor for their years of love and care. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Rudy Homchuck officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of the service. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
