OLD TOWN – Roger Thomas Durand, 77, died Feb. 10, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 10, 1933, in Blue River, Quebec, son of Wilfred and Irene (Balenger) Durand. Roger worked at his own construction business for many years and also cleared land for a living. He especially enjoyed working in the flower gardens, making things out of wood and being a friend to the animals. Roger will be sadly missed and is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joanne (Ewer) Durand; his daughters, Tracy Durand of Washington, D.C., Noella Schreffler and Camilla Durand; sons, Eugene and Roger Durand of Marianna, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jacob and Levi Schreffler and Tyler Durand, all of Marianna, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Donald Ewer and family, Steve Ewer, Vicki and family; many nieces, nephews and friends. Roger was predeceased by his parents; one sister, Ida Levesque; and one brother, David Durand. At Roger’s request, there will be no services. Services entrusted to Birmingham Funeral Home, Old Town. <>
