BANGOR – Mary Leen Soucy, 79, passed on peacefully the morning of Feb. 7, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. A lifelong resident of Bangor, Mary was born July 22, 1930, to James and Mary (Driscoll) Leen. Mary graduated from John Bapst High School in 1948 and from Beal College in 1951. She was employed at Merchant National Bank and after marrying became the bookkeeper for the family business, Frank’s Bake Shop. Mary was a devoted communicant of St. John’s Church and was a member of the women’s council. In her free time she loved to tend to her flower gardens, read, relax at home with her family and travel. She will always be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Frank J. Soucy Jr.; by her son and his wife, Frank J. Soucy III and Ellen Scheurich Soucy; by her eldest daughter and her husband, Dianne and David Gauvin and their sons, Troy and Gabriel; by her youngest daughter and her husband, Mary Elizabeth and James Economy and their daughter and her husband, Natasha and Adam Eldridge; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor. After the funeral Mass, a gathering of family and friends will be held at the parish hall of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor. Interment will be held in the family lot at a later date.
