HOLDEN and FRANKFORT – Shirley Maynard Perkins, 67, passed away Feb. 7, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 19, 1942, at Washington Junction, the son of Forrest B. and Viola (Antone) Perkins. Shirley loved to hunt and fish. Every year he grew an incredible vegetable garden that everyone loved. When Shirley lived in Frankfort he enjoyed working on the land and having all the animals. There are many special memories of times at the hunting camp in Holden. He is survived by his children, Allen Perkins and companion, Michelle, of Lowell, Mass., Callie Grant and husband, Fred Jr., of Prospect, Adam Perkins and wife, Michelle, of Frankfort and Tami Young and husband, Michael, of Patagonia, Ariz.; mothers of his children, Sandra Stevenson and Barbara Perkins; grandchildren, Connor, Michael, Clint, Melanie, Brayden, Kergan, Delaney, Hannah, Brianna and Tyler; sisters, Norma, Doris, Linda, Lucille and Pauline; brothers, Bill and Leroy; a special uncle, Stanley Sherrard; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Foster; a sister, Audrey; and a special sister-in-law, Jackie. A gathering of remembrance will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, in the Family Reception Rooms of Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer.
